In some ways, this site is pretty standard. You fill out a profile; you search for interesting matches; you email back and forth.
But this site also has several chatrooms, enabled with video and audio. That means, if you have a webcam with a microphone (mine cost $70; there are more and less expensive ones), you can sit back and have a perfectly ordinary conversation with another person, no typing required. Just click on a user's name in the list, and you can see his or her cam.
Some of the rooms are moderated and are tame; others are not moderated and you'll sometimes find naked people. The male-to-female ratio here, as usual, is extremely unbalanced; I'd estimate it's 10 to one. This makes it lots of fun if you're a woman with a cam; boy, do you get a lot of attention! But I'm sure it sucks rocks if you're a straight guy or lesbian.
I found the site really addictive. There's a world of difference between interacting with a static photo and a bunch of text, and interacting with a real live person who is smiling and reacting and even laughing in response to things you say.
I do recommend having a webcam before joining this site, because there's a certain amount of snobbiness toward cam-less members.
I interviewed P.T., a 23-year-old hetero man in IN, who has been a member for about seven months. He says, “The site makes for some fun chat sometimes. Unfortunately, like most sites of its kind, it is heavily flooded with male users. There aren’t enough females. The cams don’t always work, which sucks at times.” I asked him if he was here to find a partner in RL, or if he was just having fun. “I’m mostly here for fun, although if I had chance to hook up with someone close, I would.” Visit Site
