Like others in the Lavalife network, this site is split into three sections: Friends, Relationships, and Intimate Encounters. There are separate profiles for each section, which can include photos and video clips. Photos and video clips can be public or by invitation only. One-on-one chatting is permitted via on-site chat window. Searches can be created and saved based on geographic location, physical qualities, and/or interests.
Each email sent costs 6 credits (replies are free). A 20-minute chat session costs 6 credits, and a 60-minute chat session, 12 credits.
I interviewed D.T., a 36-year-old hetero man in CT. Although D.T. is straight, he does note that the site discriminates against gay/les/bi users by providing no check-box for sexual orientation. But you can choose to search for a specific sex. "Otherwise, it's all very easy to use." In searches, though, he wishes he had more control over geographical distance.
D.T. says, "I've had a lot of fun with this site. I have profiles on all three sections, although I spend most of my time in the Intimate Encounters section. I've met three women through this service in real life, and have chatted with many others online."
